Indira's introduction to Other Sheep; her love and passion for LGBT
human rights
Last summer, Rev. Steve Parelli and Jose Ortiz introduced Other Sheep to Nepal
working in Katmandu from June 28 - July 10 (2009). Indira, having met Steve and
Jose through Protection Desk Nepal, joined them for the Nepal Pastors' Seminar
on the Bible and Homosexuality. Prior to the seminar proper, Indira stood at the
podium and spoke to the 25-some pastors as a straight, Christian supporter of
LGBT human rights (see photo at left). It was a significant moment. Since then,
she has vocalized a continued deep interest in the mission and vision of Other
Sheep and has expressed, and demonstrated, her desires to create a ministry in
Nepal for the purpose of networking and sharing resources within the Christian
community for the welcoming and affirming of LGBT people of faith.
We are grateful, humbled, encouraged and inspired by the knowledge of her
accomplishments in human rights and by her desire to be a part of Other Sheep.
We welcome her to this position of volunteer Other Sheep Coordinator for Nepal.
