| "You can only go as fast as you can educate" |

I had a professor of Christian Education in
seminary, Dr. Ronald Chadwick, who use to
say when it came to change, "You can only
go as fast as you can educate."
Rev. John Makokha, UMC minister, has a
burden to bring educational materials,
seminars and other instructional programs
on sexual orientation to fellow
clergypersons of all denominations in
Kenya who wish to be serious students and
to ask the hard questions about human
sexuality - especially homosexuality - as it
relates to the church, society, the family
and the individual.
With the materials he has, and with
additional materials Other Sheep hopes to
supply him, he is prepared to address the
question from the Bible, as well as from the
social sciences. And with his personal
experience, education and vision for
educational training in Kenya, only the lack
of resources, both money and tools, will
hinder him.
In addition to clergypesons and lay leaders,
John, along with his wife, Anne, will reach
out to families and friends of gay and
lesbian people, with hopes of bringing
education and support to these, so that
they may understand, accept and support
their gay and lesbian family members and
friends.
